Another remade classic is coming soon! The retro Amiga game Defender of the Crown: The Legend Returns with multiple game modes on August 13th.

More about it: "In the 1980s, Defender of the Crown helped define a new kind of cinematic strategy game. Now it returns, rebuilt for modern platforms and remastered with an entirely new way to play.
Conquer territories, raise armies, storm castles, and shift the balance of power. It's the Defender of the Crown you remember - just sharper, cleaner, and built for today".

This was one of my go-to games back in my early years, I loved my Amiga systems and it's great more people will get to experience this. It was quite a challenge. At the Future Games Shown 2026 they announced the release date with a brand new trailer:

I love what they've done with this. Including the game modes.

Retro Mode allows players to experience the original Amiga version of the game, Classic Mode serves as a modern reimagining with a new visual identity and smoother mechanics. Kingdom Mode is a roguelite deck-builder with dice-based combat set in the world of Defender of the Crown. To unite the kingdom, players must fight across the map and defeat three enemy lords in their strongholds while facing brigands, rogues, and Norman forces along the way.

Hope this does well so we might see the same treatment for other Amiga classics.
