The Wine 11.11 development release is now available bringing with it more features like Wayland support upgrades and bug fixes.
This is the tech that forms a major part of Valve's Proton, allowing tons of Windows games to run on Linux and Steam Deck. We're currently waiting on Valve releasing Proton 11 that's currently in Beta.
Highlights from the Wine 11.11 release:
- Bundled SymCrypt library, to replace TomCrypt.
- More USER32 window information moved to shared memory.
- Layered windows in the Wayland driver.
- More VBScript compatibility improvements.
- Various bug fixes.
There's bug fixes noted for the likes of Space Empires V, multiple for Battle.net, Wreckfest, Total War: Shogun 2, Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered, Yesterday Origins, Think or Swim and various others.
