Brutal action shooter 'RUINER' might finally arrive on Linux in April

By - | Views: 6,742

RUINER [Steam], the brutal action shooter from Reikon Games night finally arrive on Linux in April it seems.

Originally supposed to be a day-1 release back in September last year, it was then delayed just before the release.  We've been kept waiting and waiting, with mixed up messages from them, but they just said this today on Steam:

Hi guys,

We are porting RUINER to Linux as we speak. If everything goes according to the plan, we should finish sometime in April :)

Take care,
RUINERS

It's had pretty good post-release support from what I've seen, with plenty of content updates including new weapons, new finishing moves, a "New Game+" mode, a Speedrun mode and so on.

Let's hope the wait was worth it, it has certainly reviewed well overall.

Sounds good.

While we are on the topic of delayed releases, what's going on with Everspace? They were supposed to be "almost ready" several months ago, but GOG still doesn't sell Linux version.

It will never be official and because of that it will never release on GOG.

Didn't they say they fixed all the bugs already? So why can't they make it official?

They must support it officially and from what i've seen they decided to not do it due to AMD related issues.

Trying for provide a support is hard , but taking money with an unsupported product is easy.

They will blame UE4 and finish. That's it.

They said that new release of Unreal Engine fixed them and they switched to it. Also, those issues were fixed with Mesa update itself even for the older UE release. So that can't be the current reason.

Exciting news! I've been waiting for this one. I was going to make it a day one purchase, and probably still will on its first day on Linux!
