For those who love emulation, you might want to know about Citra, a work in progress Nintendo 3DS emulator that we've never written about here before. It seems they've been hard at work too!

RPCS3, the open source emulator for the Playstation 3 has a new progress report out and it's looking really good.

This is sad, very sad. A developer from The Libretro Team has written up a blog post on the libretro site asking for us and others to highlight an ongoing problem of code getting ripped off.

As promised, the developers of PS3 emulator RPCS3 have put out a blog post detailing the work they've been doing recently and it's pretty amazing.

The awesome GameCube and Wii emulator Dolphin has officially dropped support for the D3D12 API in favour of going all-in with Vulkan.

The developer of the open source Playstation 3 emulator 'RPCS3' has improved Linux support recently.

This is awesome, Dolphin the big GameCube & Wii emulator has now merged in the code for official Vulkan support.

Little late on this due to inbox spam (too many games getting released!), but it seems Dolphin the GameCube and Wii emulator can now boot every GameCube game in the official library.

On the github pull request to bring in the Vulkan backend for the Dolphin emulator, it now reads as feature complete.

RetroArch now has a pre-alpha Vulkan renderer for their N64 emulator. This is pretty cool to see and hopefully it helps performance.

I love emulators, I think they are a fantastic way to keep old platforms alive. Even with the grey area around roms I think they are really interesting. Dolphin is now working on a Vulkan backend.

For those who like a bit of emulation in their lives, PPSSPP has release a major update to their open source emulator recently.

A couple of old Sid Meier classics were released on Steam, more precisely Sid Meier's Colonization, Pirates! Gold Plus, and Sid Meier's Covert Action.

BlastEm has released a new major update recently adding some highly needed features, it's always good to see old systems get preserved through emulators.
