Well this is confusing, but still awesome. Dead Island Definitive Edition and Dead Island: Riptide Definitive Edition supporting Linux/SteamOS is now 100% official.
While it doesn't seem Linux/SteamOS is officially supported for Dead Island Definitive Edition and Dead Island Riptide: Definitive Edition they are both playable.
Strange and sad news, Deep Silver responded to me on twitter to let me know that Dead Island Riptide Definitive Edition and Dead Island Definitive Edition are not coming to Linux. I find this odd going by the recent SteamDB activity.
7 Days to Die recently released Alpha 14, and with it came broken graphics for Linux gamers. The developers are asking for logs to help them narrow down what's causing it. It sounds very familiar to me.
One day I will be able to write something nice about 7 Days to Die, but today is not that day. The developers have released 7 Days to Die alpha 14 and shown they still aren't testing the Linux builds.
Dying Light (oh sorry it's Dying Light: The Following - Enhanced Edition now isn't it) is a pretty good game, even more so with the new The Following DLC. It's great to see them finally listen to the community and add in this much requested feature.
Project Zomboid is easily one of my favourite indie games to keep an eye on. Not just because I love Zombies, but the effort these guys put into the game is amazing.
Moving Hazard has captured my interest, and the developers mention that they definitely want to release on Linux. Time to show our support for it.
Just a heads up, a new Dying Light patch is now available. Sadly it broke the game for me on my main Ubuntu install
Well, looks like Techland are at least paying some sort of attention to their Linux port, not much mind. They just released a hotfix to Dying Light that should fix up the low resolution texture issue. See the update at the bottom too.
Dying Light: The Following - Enhanced Edition is a big patch and DLC now available for Dying Light. I have tested it a bit and here's what I found.
I've heard reports far and wide that the Linux to Linux multiplayer in Dying Light is broken. Myself and Samsai tried to connect to each other many times and it failed every time, lets get it fixed.
I do love the single player in Dying Light, and I am very much looking forward to Dying Light Enhanced Edition and The Following DLC both coming next week. The major annoyance is the co-op play for Linux to Linux nearly never works.
We finally have something other than silence from Tripwire about Killing Floor 2, and the news isn't great right at this moment, but it's still planned.
I am still confused by Techland's marketing team calling it Dying Light: The Following - Enhanced Edition, since The Following is a DLC and Dying Light: Enhanced Edition is a big patch. It's confusing when all their marketing emails and tweets combine the two so I'm never really 100% sure what's in the DLC and what's just in the Enhanced Edition.
I love Dying Light (apart from the ending), and with Dying Light: The Following - Enhanced Edition being a massive update (and a DLC), I couldn't be happier.
Project Zomboid is one of my favourite indie games, while I haven't set aside a lot of time for it, it has a place at the top of my heart.
I am super excited for both the Enhanced Edition upgrade of Dying Light and The Following DLC. Both will make an already good game, even better. Check out these two newer videos.
Oh Techland, if Dying Light wasn't one of our very few open world games I would probably like you a lot less. You might be wondering why I am being rather blunt, well, their latest patch for Dying Light has removed everyone's heads on Linux.
I'm a big fan of Dying Light, even with it being a bit iffy at times for me, but the general gameplay is fantastic. The developers have announced a newer Dying Light: Enhanced Edition is coming
