Lost Constellation is a supplemental game to the upcoming game 'Night in the Woods' by developer Infinite Fall and is available on a pay-what-you-want scheme from Itch.io. Night in the Woods is a story-focused exploration platformer that smashed through its $50K goal on Kickstarter last year and ended up with a respectable $200K. Both games are similar in style, and the Kickstarter pitch for the in-development, crowd-funded game can be seen in the video below.

This newly released game is presented as a ghost story about Adina Astra, who must find her way through a stretch of wood at night in search of a star. Strange things happen in the snow-clad forest, as the trees themselves move and obscure her path, making her walk in circles. To reach her goal, she must call upon the souls of people who have died on their journey through the forest, using snowmen as mediums. For some added wintery flavor, the game even lets you design your own snowmen, using an inbuilt snowman editor, and you can save your creations directly to your desktop.

Playing through the game should take roughly an hour, depending on how fast you can figure out the solutions to the few puzzles you are presented with. You can choose between either a controller or keyboard and mouse. I chose the latter and found it to work well, with the exception of having to fiddle a lot with rotating the pieces of the snowmen I made using the touchpad on my laptop.

You can download the game from Itch.io, with the option of paying as much (or as little) as you want to support the developer.
