For those of you who played XCOM, you may remember the mod 'Long War' which expanded the game in many ways and made it a much larger experience. Well, it seems Pavonis Interactive (previously Long War Studios) are working on Long War 2 for XCOM 2 [Steam].

Details are very thin right now, but it's exciting as Long War was absolutely huge.

They will be sharing more details in the months ahead, but you can see the initial announcement here.

You can read more about the original Long War mod here. That should give you a taste as to the level of work these developers put into it.

How many hours has XCOM 2 taken from you? Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

My steam account says 8, but that doesn't count my many hours of offline play. I've only had it for a month, and I haven't yet tried it with mods.

Time to install this again and I haven't even finished Guacamalee yet (great game and works perfectly on Linux by the way).

I am curious about this, but I do not think my computer is good enough for XCOM 2 really. RadeonSI drivers on a GCN 1.1 southern islands card, laptop, 8gb RAM. It's like the minimum almost, but meh. I wish!

Man, I need to get back into this game. I bought the season pass and enjoyed my first two playthroughs, but somehow lost interest and haven't yet played with the second and third DLCs active. I keep meaning to play through again, maybe now's the time!

I ended up reinstalling my OS shortly after finishing my iron man run on Legendary so I didn't bother reinstalling the game. I heard great things about the Long War mod for XCOM Enemy Unknown, but haven't tried it there since I got the game only a couple of months before XCOM 2 came out and I just moved on to playing that.
Maybe I should go back to XCOM EU and play Long War there first ....
I have a feeling that this could easily beet the DLCs that came out for XCOM-2 so far.

33 hours so far. Only part way into the campaign, and without the Alien Hunters DLC. Lots of fun, and I'll absolutely get the Long War mod once it arrives.

1 Hour. Just started it so it counts as Linux purchase.
Still have too many games on the list to play, didn't get around yet to play XCOM2.

Can't wait for LW2! :)
