Today is the 20th anniversary of Quake; Bethesda and Machine Games have let us celebrate it with a new official free expansion. It runs pretty nice with QuakeSpasm natively on GNU/Linux.
Set your QuakeSpasm as usually (you will need Quake's pak files) > unrar the expansion in a folder named dopa in the directory of QuakeSpasm > start QuakeSpasm > open console > type and enter game dopa > the game warns you that enter "exec quake.rc" to load new configs > type and enter exec quake.rc > you are good to go.
Enjoy.
