There already is "Click to open search", right at the top of the forum.

You're blind, it's in the actual forum page, as stated it says "Click to open search" ;)

In my opinion is called "bad design" :P
Forum Search should be visible/viable everywhere
For example on The menu above on Forum Popup should have a search option there or somewhere else maybe
Even though I dont know the purpose of that Forum Menu

It has 3 Options
Forum --> Takes you to the current topic
Forum --> Takes you to the Main Forums
Irc --> Takes you to IRC

I have improved the navbar to have simpler links for the forum and irc as I agree that was a bit odd.

I will look to improve the visibility of the forum search too, maybe just always having it visible at the top of any page on the forum.

Okay forum search is no longer hidden in a slider, it's now always displayed at the top of the forum index.
