Hardware Video / Audio capture?
slaapliedje Sep 19, 2017
Can anyone recommend a good Video/Audio capture device for Linux? I bought a Startech one and can't seem to get it to work. It showed up in some search for Linux, but apparently was incorrect.

I've seen plenty of simple HDMI to USB or VGA to USB, but I'd like one that has VGA/DVI/S-Video connections. The one I ordered seemed perfect, if only it'd work in Linux.

Unless someone knows how to get this working in Linux... Was even considering creating a VM for Windows just so I could use this to capture things off my various Ataris....

To know whether it is working (or not) under Linux, your first step should be lsusb and maybe dmesg|grep video.
