Hey guys, I've been working on a super huge recap of the recent 7DFPS game jam, and as a way to test out the new review feature, I'd like to invite everybody to contribute.

In particular, I'm keen to have some "editors' picks" (beneath the Long List Of Games). If anybody finds or has seen anything they like, feel free to add it there.

The other thing I'd be happy to have a hand with is adding a brief one or two sentence description of each game (preferably without using other games as comparisons). There are somewhere around 76 Linux titles all up, which is an awesome number. It's also going to take me a while to get through them all, and speeding that up would be great! :D

If anybody is super keen on investigating all the exciting Linux friendly games, I was thinking of also including a list of the browser based games that are playable on Linux, but I really don't want to slow the article down for that.

I'm not 100% happy with formatting (I'm considering breaking it down into a two or three part thingy), and I'm still working on other parts of the article (pulling in interview answers and preparing a chart or two) so if you do pop something in, be sure that you don't push it live.

The article should be visible in the Admin Posts Awaiting Review section :)

Edit: Oh, and the "submit for review" button disappears when you preview an unsaved article.

Did you interview yourself in a post? :D

People are constantly sayingI should interview myself, so I figured why not? :D

Oh, thinking about it, it might be best to add thoughts/contributions as comments so that I don't accidentally overwrite changes when I'm working on it.

Profile pages will now not showing hidden articles.
Profile pages now show who is an editor as well.

I will eventually make an about us page which will bring in each editors bio so make sure your bio's are neat ladies.

We could really use multi-page articles, liam. Think that's possible?

Yeah it's been on the back burner for a while sorry folks.

Added a "link to me" for forum posts.

When accepting articles guys, make sure the headline makes sense in English. Changed the tex murphy one as the original headline didn't make sense.

Anyone opposed to the website emailing all editors when an article is sent for review by other editors and when a user submits an article, currently only emails me.
Cheeseness 4 Sep 2013
No problems here.
Liam Dawe 4 Sep 2013
Cool, it's now in as you may tell from the test email.

Just FYI I have contacted Rusty to see if he plans to come back and be an active editor as I want to clean things up a bit, if not he will no longer have Editor status.

Still need to add mailing editors when we add an article for review.
Liam Dawe 4 Sep 2013
Okay it now emails editors when you submit for review.

The spam report system for comments is now less useless - it now gives you buttons to edit and delete the comment, as well as the original button to just remove the report...oops forgot the really useful stuff :P

Please guys don't approve articles that have a tagline that contains info the main article doesn't, the questverse one for example the tagline explained what the game actually is, the article did not I just added it in.

Please make sure you read the notes:
Taglines: At least 100 characters long, no longer than the tagline image. Make sure no information is in the tagline that isn't in the main article!

Is it acceptable to use different wording in main article than tagline, while conveying the same information?
Sometimes pasting a tagline into article doesn't cut it.

Liam Dawe 8 Sep 2013
As long as you aren't missing information from the article that the tagline has, the reason is a massive % of visitors get linked directly to an article and don't even see the front page - so if info is the tagline the article doesn't have they won't see it.

What about "Author" access permission level alongside "Editor" to make authors life easier. Like ability to monitor approval status of own articles, editing of ones article, approving of editors edits, nice badge in comments, silly hat for ones chicken and so one?
Liam Dawe 8 Sep 2013
People get auto emailed when an article is denied or approved.

As for authors ability to edit, that may be a possibility in future.
Alex V.Sharp 8 Sep 2013
Giving the original author the ability to edit his post does sound very user-friendly, however I'd advise only for registered users to reduce spam. Also maybe an editor should need to re-approve the edit, just in case to prevent vandalism?
