So seeing the GOTY Awards on here made me want to compile a list of all the games I actually did play through myself in 2017.

For the purposes of my list I excluded any games where I did not play through the entire single player campaign, or where I started or finished them in another calendar year. Some games I also played more than once, but they are listed in the order I first played them starting last year.

1. F.E.A.R. Platinum Collection (WINE)
2. F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin (WINE)
3. BloodCM (Source Port)
4. Hard West Collector's Pack (Native)
5. The Original Strife: Veteran Edition (Native)
6. Blood II: The Blood Group (WINE)
7. Cryptic Passage (DOSBox)
8. SiN Gold (WINE)
9. Hotline Miami (Native)
10. Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number (Native)
11. Ziggurat (Native)
12. FTL: Faster Than Light (Native)
13. Red Faction (WINE)
14. Chaser (WINE)
15. Doom 3: The Lost Mission (Source Port)
16. Doom 3 (Source Port)
17. Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil (Source Port)
18. Wanton Destruction (DOSBox)
18. Halo: Combat Evolved (Xbox)
19. Max Payne (Xbox)
20. Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne (WINE)
21. Brütal Legend (Native)
22. Quake 4 (Native)

For clarity I started the year by finishing the bonus campaign of Shadowrun: Hong Kong Extended Edition (Native), and ended it by trying to win every campaign included in Age of Empires II: Gold Edition (WINE). I also got quite far into Torchlight II (Native) until sheer boredom felled me.

Feel free to post your own list, and of course you are not bound by my rules. :)

Yeah, I know, but the system was only $30 CDN from a thrift store. ;)

The only people who got any money from it was Value Village.

Well, you got me interested to see what I actually completed in 2017. I felt like I ended the year with a ton of "work in progress" games on my list, but it turns out I did complete a bit after all. I only played Linux Native games this year, and got hooked for months on Total War: Warhammer:

1. Total War:Attila: Himyar Campaign
2. The Whispered World Special Edition
3. Fire
4. Grim Fandango Remastered
5. Hitman GO: Definitive Edition
6. Full Throttle Remasterd
7. The Journey Down Chapters 1,2,3
8. SteamWorld Dig 2
9. Total War: Warhammer: Dwarfs Campaign
10. Total War: Warhammer: Greenskins Campaign
11. Total War: Warhammer: Empire Campaign
12. Total War: Warhammer: Beastmen Campaigns
13. Total War: Warhammer: Norsca Campaign
14. Hitman
15. Dreamfall Chapters
16. Layers of Fear

I'd post my list (16 games), but not a single one of these was played on Linux. :-( These days, I only buy Linux games to show my support, not to play them. I mostly play on portable devices (PSVita/3DS) and some on the big TV (PS3/4). I don't sit down at the computer to play any more at all.

I was looking at Iconoclasts on the main page earlier today and wanted to get it... but to actually play it, I'd need to get it on Vita again. Bah.

Neither do I, and I play all my games on Linux. ;)

Heh, you are obviously right. Unfortunately for me, I don't have the space to connect a gaming computer to the TV. And don't talk to me about Steam Link, it's far too much hassle and way too unreliable for me to seriously consider using it.

Time was limited, I guess the only games where I spend more than 20 hours are Hitman and Thimbleweed Park. I've bought some more for my backlog though like Observer, Everspace and Arma3. F1 session is about to start, time to practice Melbourne Circuit :)

I didn't have much time last year and I suspect it won't be much better in 2018 :'( So the only games I've played through finished in 2017 were:

  • Aliens: Colonial Marines

  • Baldur's Gate SoD

  • Dead Effect

  • Deus Ex: Human Revolution

  • Deus Ex: The Fall

  • Dishonored

  • Divinity: Original Sin

  • Shadowrun Returns

  • Sword Coast Legends

Perhaps I missed some smaller game from GOG or Humble, IDK.

  • Minecraft (Bedrock Edition, Played alternatingly on Linux and Android)
  • Hitman? - that was this year right?

I knew my kids played more than me this past year but that list is almost shamefull, making it worse I've put maybe 5 hours into hitman and about half the time I spendt playing playing Minecraft was working on smoothing out dependencies and buildprocedures for the mcpelauncher-linux / server... but hey I can now automatically make .deb files for all the 2-3 people that wants that xD
