[fixed] Patreon discovery not working
nox commented on 1 June 2019 at 10:54 pm UTC

Hi!

I got an email about not being able to find my patreon contribution.

I then went to the website with the provided link, which took me to a site which told me I didn't have access.
This site should really have a login box directly.

Then, when I went through with the proper verification (pressing Allow) I just get told to do it again.

The text at the bottom of the site say "{:text}" after allowing patreon

Sorry for the troubles, will take a look first thing tomorrow.

Good idea on the login box will add that too!

Seems it did work though since you have supporter status, strange.

Ah alright! Thanks for all the work you do

Okay so:

- The User Control Panel will now actually show a login form if you're not logged in and not just an unhelpful message telling you to return to the main page <_<

- The message should now appear telling you what it did when you login with Patreon, I had the messages all in the code...I just apparently forgot to actually send them to the template file weeeeeeeeeeee

- The Patreon Linking page will also actually tell you right away if you're already fine.

In my case, after heading to https://www.gamingonlinux.com/usercp.php?module=patreon, logging in on patreon, allowing gol-checker, i end up with error message "Sorry but it seems your Patreon email is not verified. We suggest you head on over to Patreon to take a look."

... but i do not see any way how to get my email better verified on patreon then it already is (imo email is correctly set there and verified).

I do use different email there, but i did set the Supporter email in https://www.gamingonlinux.com/usercp.php?module=email to the same one used there (visible on patreon on edit profile page).

If your email is not verified on Patreon, you need to sort it directly on Patreon. I would suggest emailing their support team.

I've done a manual run-over their data now though by exporting pledges, you're all set (but I would still ensure you get Patreon to verify your email).
