His birthday is in a month so I figured I gift him a usable replacement in the 150-200€. I'm looking at RX 570/RX 580, but I'm a little confused as to why nvidia doesn't have any cards in this range the 1060 is ~250€.
Am I overlooking something here?

So, for 200$, the best is GTX 1660

In a nutshell:
RX 580 performs slightly lower than 5500 XT and is slightly cheaper.
5500XT consumes less power and performs about the same as GTX 1060 in most cases.
1650 Super is also very close to 5500 XT (they trade blows).
I have a 5500 XT for a few months, it performs as expected and never gave me any trouble.

Not many games will go over 4GB unless you start using a bunch of high res mods, however as shown in a few select games/benchmarks, the 4GB model offers lower performance for some strange reason.
@Guppy: I see many cards label this as "PCIe 4.0", PCIe is backwards compatible, I'm running it on an Intel i5-4590 system, Sandybridge will be fine for it.

Used prices around these parts are simply not worth it - people usually demand 70-80% of the retail price for their crap. point in case, there are currently 10 1070 8g up for sale the priced 230-300€.
At any rather I ordered a 1650 super for him it should arrive today, thanks for the help everyone 👍
