OpenHMD Oculus Rift CV1/DK2 with positional tracking
midget_3111 Jan 27, 2021
Just wanted to draw attention to the latest excellent work by the OpenHMD project, specifically thaytan. Yesterday he hit a big milestone in the development of a fully open sourced driver with positional tracking for the Oculus Rift CV1 and DK2. You can see his work on Github here

There's also a neat video of the tracking in action- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dc_Dpfl1I8o It's still early days yet, but personally I'm looking forward to seeing where this project goes. Hopefully we can have one less reason to keep that Windows partition thanks to their hard work - especially with Oculus dropping support for Linux on their Virtual reality headsets in the early days of the CV1.
