The steam dock just makes it feel complete now. I can update firmware from the os the thing ships with, I can use the deck itself as a main display if I want to, I can connect to any display without needing an hdmi -> DP adapter. Heck i can use freesync even now!
It just feels like a real computer to me now not just some toy. i cant explain it, but such is life.

All cables connected, a quick update of the docking firmware (via the Steam Deck - not Windows as with the JAUSX), turned on - running. Did not take 10 minutes.
My two existing Stadia controllers I have now connected with 5 meter long USB-C to USB-A cables, since Bluetooth is not (yet) enabled. Perhaps Google will make a gift to the community in a final act. But until then, the cable solution works flawlessly.
My kids immediately played a round of Cake Bash, which they had previously played on Stadia. :)
