there has always been a few -bin packages (libreoffice, firefox, rust) but now it covers alot more. Not super optimised ( CFLAGS="-march=x86-64 -mtune=generic -O2 -pipe" ) but this to be as generic as possible and allow users to get a system up and running really quickly and easier to maintain.
Personally, I'll stick to building from source.
