Help needed with blocklist
dvd Apr 12
I had a blocklist few years ago i couldn't put on my router since it's a potato. It was called something like "the big internet blacklist" afaik, and it had a lot of categories (socials, porn, religion, games, gambling). It was a domain based list, i think i pikced it up on the openwrt page. Now i'm not able to google it. I want to put it on a PC i'm making for my niece.

If anyone knows the list, or a similar one, pointers would be much appreciated!

Is this hosts file effort suitable?

An easy and efficient option is Cloudflare DNS for families. Just use 1.1.1.3 as your DNS server, and you are good to go. I think you can control what exactly is blocked if you have an account with Cloudflare, but it's not necessary.

Additionally you should also install uBlock Origin in the browser for generic ads and some malware protection.

At least that is what I would do.

Thanks all for the suggestions. I have already installed ublock and enabled Cloudflare.
