A nice little early birthday present for me, Ex-Zodiac is a low-poly 3D rail shooter (think like Star Fox) that now has a release date. It's going to release with Native Linux support on July 21st, following on from the successful Kickstarter campaign back in 2020.
With the initial release it will have 6 main stages and 6 bonus stages, which the publisher said brings "the 80's/90's nostalgia to a new level".
See one of the original trailers below but there's a newer sneak-peak on Twitter:

Oh man, this is exactly what I've been missing! I loved the SNES Star Fox titles and still revisit them often, and with the series left to rack and ruin for years, this should be just the trick. The zodiac idea sounds like it should be fun, too.

Quoting: GuestLooks pretty good. Bit unsure about the soundtrack though.Surely [libstrangle](https://gitlab.com/torkel104/libstrangle) or the Gamescope FPS limiter can achieve this :)
One thing these retro inspired games lack, is a 20fps option. Games like shredders revenge and SOR4, as great as they are, don't always feel quite right to me being a full 60fps. An option to lock them at 30, 20, or even 15fps could give it a bit more of a retro feel. At least for me anyway.
