Inspired by one of my favourite movies, Xenopurge channels tactical roguelike action where you're commanding a squad dealing with aliens.
Channelling classic Hollywood 'cassette futurist' aesthetics, Xenopurge is a game of squad command and tactics seen through the hazy phosphor glow of a half-dozen monitors. Build your squad, equip them, and customize their rules of engagement before deploying them into alien-infested hotspots offering lucrative rewards, should they complete their objectives. Much like what happened in the movie Aliens, with Gorman sat in the vehicle directing the troops.

The initial early access version of Xenopurge will feature:
- 2 playable squads, each with their own distinct combat styles.
- 20 commands, each providing new tactical options in combat.
- 25 unique pieces of equipment for ranged and close encounters.
- 3 difficulty settings fit for junior officers to battle-hardened vets.
They've said the final release is planned to arrive within a year and during Early Access they'll be adding in new squads, gear, missions and tactical challenges.
"Xenopurge is built around the fantasy of being inside a command room — directing missions, adapting to unpredictable dangers, and feeling the weight of every decision," said Michalis Papagathangelou, designer at Traptics. "Our goal is to simulate that experience as closely and accurately as possible. Launching into Early Access allows us to collaborate directly with our community and evolve the game together."
Sounds like a fun idea, could be a tense one!
10 days to go! Damn.
