Recently CarX Street added in Easy Anti-Cheat which has been causing issues, but they're working on improving it for Linux desktop and Steam Deck.

Writing in a post on Steam, they made it clear that EAC is here to stay but there's some good news for Linux players. Here's what they said about it:

Why were there issues with Linux and Steam Deck?

  • Linux

Initially, CarX Street was not positioned as a game with Linux or third-party emulator support. However, given your interest, we have already started adapting the game for Linux systems.

  • Steam Deck

Partial Deck support, which existed before version 1.7.0, was restored in patch 1.7.1. We are aware of complaints about unstable performance and are actively working on optimizing the game for Steam Deck. Note that full official Deck support was never previously announced, but we are striving to achieve it.

Since they've added in Easy Anti-Cheat, the player count has actually more than doubled. But we're talking only a 24 hour peak of 1,657 players. Nice to see another developer actually think about improving their Linux support though, with anti-cheat being a real problem for Linux platforms.
