The Blender Studio team have now released DOGWALK, a free casual game made with Godot Engine. A showcase of what's possible with free and open source tools.
On the official website, their team put up various development logs you can read over to see how they got on with Godot. Originally they said "The goal of this project is to create a pipeline between Blender and Godot to make the asset and level creation process as seamless as possible".

Highlights:
- Explore - You are let loose to roam camping grounds, forest paths, idyllic creeks and a frozen pond in this miniature open world.
- Bound together - Guide or drag around your little kid owner that you have in tow. Help each other out, be a menace or be a good boy.
- Play your way - Dive straight in and have the game react to your play-style and choices. There are no fail states. Only player driven moments.
- A paper craft world - Traverse an environment made of real-life paper crafted models, scanned and recreated to be played with.
The source code and various assets it's made with are also available, but you need to subscribe to Blender Studio to access all of it. The game itself is completely free though. You can also buy the Supporter Pack on Steam for the source code.

Finally! A game for us dog-lovers \o/.
While I never bothered to do an exhaustive survey, my impression is that there are quite a few games with feline protagonists, and big ones at that, but not that many from a canine perspective. Maybe cats are better companions for developers who spend all their time in front of a computer and therefore the more logical choice? Or do their character and abilities make for better gameplay?

Sven Bømwøllen features a dog in an important role, just not the protagonist.
