Bellfortis is a medieval turn-based strategy game for players who love the genre, but don't have as much time to commit their lives to it.

The developer told me they were directly inspired by the likes of Total War, Centurion, or Crusader Kings 3. Giving you a chance to become a conqueror and build up a new empire, but it won't take you an entire age to finish a game with its faster gameplay. Good for those of you with busy families!

The game features 7 large scenarios, which can be conquered by up to 18 different factions from 9th and 10th century Europe and North Africa. Each campaign can be completed in 2 to 5 hours. In addition to the campaign, you can also play standalone battles, which are scored and timed.

The developer sent over a key to GamingOnLinux and it appears to work perfectly with Proton 9.0-4, just hit Play in Steam and away you go. Created by developer Rake in Grass, one of the oldest "garage" dev teams from the Czech Republic. They've released more than 20 games across 8 platforms, including the popular Rampage Knights and Jets'n'Guns series.

Highlights:

  • Build your empire.
  • Recruit armies and fight exciting battles.
  • Play as 18 different factions across 7 unique scenarios.
  • Use politics and intrigue, diplomats and spies.
  • Face random events that can change the gameplay.
