Sci-fi fans are eating good lately. Surviving Mars: Relaunched was announced by Paradox Interactive with Haemimont Games back for it.

It will include enhanced graphics, a new UI,and new content never before seen in the original. Plus all the previously released DLC from expansions to cosmetic bits all included together in one package. No release date given other than "soon" and it will have a "substantial discount for owners of the original Surviving Mars".

We don't know yet if it will continue the Native Linux support like the original, and Paradox haven't yet replied to my question about it. So it's possible you may have to use Valve's Proton for it on Linux systems.

Game Highlights:

  • The Award-Winning Martian Colonization Game, Remastered: Players must overcome the challenges of building a habitable, life-sustaining colony in a hostile environment, bringing in human colonists, and keeping them alive long enough to become self-sustaining. Relaunched brings a reworked UI to players for easier access to their toolset and upgraded graphics fidelity and lighting for modern systems.
  • The Full Expansion Catalog: Compete with other colonies with Space Race, introduce Animal Life with Project Laika, and terraform the martian desert with Green Planet - along with all major and minor expansions, cosmetics, and radio stations released for the original game.
  • New Gameplay Feature: The “Martian Assembly” update adds colony factions to the game, adding players’ greatest challenge yet to the unforgiving environment of Mars: politics. Colonists will adopt agendas and personal demands, allowing players to shape the society of their colonies’ future. Establish laws and policies, and even push for full independence from Earth!
  • Expansive Mod Support: Craft your own buildings, parks, or even a sci-fi mystery to share through the game’s extensive and convenient modding tools. Modding is integrated into the game across all platforms, making it easy to browse, install, share, and manage mods without ever leaving your colony.

The base price will be $39.99/£34.99/€39.99 but owners of the original get it for $19.99/£17.50/€19.99.

Pass. I'm not interested in buying the same game all over again, just for a few tweaks and a bound to be frustrating politics system. All the more since it looks like they're not tweaking the DLC, one of which was irrelevant (Laika), one tedious toward the end (Green Planet), and the rest had negative reviews.

You mean you don't wanna rebuy a remastered "Marsvision Song Contest" DLC? Which makes me wonder something: If literally no one outside of the Nordic countries cares about Eurovision, then WTF does that say about a "Marsvision" song contest? lol
