Anti-cheat looks like a no-go on Linux / SteamOS and Steam Deck for Arena Breakout: Infinite

Arena Breakout: Infinite releases soon from Morefun Studios and sadly, this is yet another online multiplayer title that will not work on Linux / SteamOS.

It's going to be using Anti-Cheat Expert (ACE), which is one of the most annoying anti-cheat systems when it comes to supporting Linux. Multiple games as listed on our dedicated anti-cheat page use it and either only work on Steam Deck or don't work at all.

On their official FAQ post on Steam they said:

Q: Does the game support Linux or Steam Deck?

A: No, not at this time.

Doesn't get much clearer than that.

I hope this kernel level anticheat stuff goes away overtime and we get something that uses LLMs instead, which can be done mostly server-side too.
Anti-cheat Amateurs strikes again.
