Over an email to GamingOnLinux a ZOOM Platform rep mentioned they aimed to ensure it worked smoothly on Linux via Wine / Proton and they noted: "To get technical for a bit, the last thing we were waiting for was figuring out the best way to force the native version of a dll we use that wraps the controller API to map the analog controls to modern controllers.
For Steam, we asked Valve to update Proton. It's live already via experimental and our Steam app is pinned to that version.
zoom-platform.sh will just use that same fix through Proton by utilizing the UMU database to link our ID with the Steam appid."
