Valve put out another small Beta to fix up an issue with the new Steam Deck screen-off downloads, and some other Desktop Linux fixes that came recently.

I'm seriously happy to see this feature land, and it has been working really nicely in my testing when loading up both my Steam Decks with some more games.

Here's what Valve tweaked for the Steam Deck in the November 5th Beta update:

Display-Off Low Power Downloads

  • Fixed an issue that could cause a delay between finishing downloads and going to sleep if the device had recently received user input.

Plus a recent Beta for the Desktop Steam Client (Nov 5th):

Steam Input

  • Fixed an issue where PlayStation controller light bar settings did not stick when exiting the controller calibration page.
SteamVR
  • Reduced or eliminated a bug where the dashboard bar is occasionally missing.

And also (Nov 4th):

Steam Input

  • Fixed Xbox 360 controller mappings on newer Linux kernels.
  • Fixed 8BitDo Pro 3 controller mapping on Linux when hidraw devices aren't available.
Remote Play
  • Fixed mouse position when using multiple monitors with different display scales.

You can change lightbar settings for PS controllers in Steam?!? I had no idea. I've been using dualsensectl for that all this time.

I recently discovered that when you click into bluetooth settings in the notification tray, and disconnect your DualSense controller there, it automatically turns off the controller! That's pretty cool. I wish my bluetooth headphones would do that.
