The developer behind the useful AI notice browser plugin for Steam has now done the same for itch.io, and they've made it easier to use the extensions.

In an email to GamingOnLinux they mentioned the itch.io version is available as a native extension for Firefox and Chrome, or as a userscript if you prefer. On itch.io developers do have to tag their games as using AI since November 2024, but it appears there's no actual notice on game pages at all, not even in the "More information" bit you can expand. There is a specific category for AI games with a huge 26,328 tagged.

So hopefully this plugin will help any of you that shop across itch.io too. Here's how it looks which is very similar to the Steam version:

Now you can't miss it.

The developer also mentioned "Both extensions can now be installed natively in Firefox for Android. This was already possible with the userscript version, but now it's easier". And, additionally, you can even add it directly into the Steam client using Millennium and Extendium although it's not supported and not exactly clear if it's against Steam's rules.

You can find it via for itch.io:

Please make that browser plugin for Epic Games Store as well!

Oh, wait. Tim Sweeney says that it's not necessary emoji

These can probably be adapted into privoxy filters to sidestep the need for in-browser/in-client extensions.
