Team Cherry just revealed some huge news for both Hollow Knight: Silksong and the original Hollow Knight with some free extras on the way.

For the original Hollow Knight there's a refresh update coming, which is already in Beta and you can test it on Steam right now as per their post it contains:

- Added support for 21:9 & 16:10 resolutions.
- Game now pauses while in inventory menus.
- Upgraded to Unity Input System for broader controller support (original input system is still available, if preferred, via Options>Controller>Advanced Settings)
- Added dithering effect, and dithering options, to reduce colour banding.
- Fixed a softlock in City of Tears Grub room.
- Reduced Grey Prince Zote's stagger bounce height.
- Updated Sly's Great Slash collider to closer match visual.
- Salubra's Blessing now deactivates after reaching max Soul.
- Map panning is now smoother
- Various smaller fixes and tweaks.

They also note that with Proton you'll see a video test pattern, so to switch to the Native Linux version.

Hollow Knight: Silksong meanwhile is getting a whole free expansion named Sea of Sorrow. Expect to find "New areas, bosses, tools, and more! Hornet’s adventures continue in our nautically themed expansion, coming free for all players next year". We'll get more info closer to the release date as they want to keep plenty secret.

They also revealed in the blog post that Silksong has sold over 7 million copies. That's pretty incredible, but not unexpected given the mass hype around the game before release.
