Does this count as a first Battle Royale on Linux? ;)

Valve have announced the Steam Link app and the Steam Video app (updated)

This is for y'all that are living in place where's internet is the best in the world (connectivity, speed and ping wise), so Steam Link app might the best thing y'all.

But for myself, I want truly mobile gaming devices. Streaming isn't substitute for my on-the-go gaming needs especially offline gaming.

The Steam Hardware Survey had some flaw causing cyber cafes to be over-counting users

Quoting: wvstolzingCan you boot into a full desktop environment with that? I thought PXE boot did just enough to get a barebones boot image from a TFTP server, only to start an install on the local system. Just to try it out, I once installed Fedora on my laptop with a setup like that (PXE boot into tiny installer over TFTP, download everything else over http from a Fedora mirror), and I thought it was neat -- but booting into a complete system, and *using it* like that would be considerably neat-er!

I'm curious because I eventually want to set up a couple of thin clients around the house, connected to my main desktop, once my other ancient computers kick the bucket entirely. So far I've tried multiseat (which is pretty trivial to set up thanks to systemd), though that's limited to the number of graphics outputs one has; VNC works ok with a bit of pulseaudio twiddling to get accompanying audio, but it's really slow.

...a quick google search suggests that even Raspberry Pi 3s are capable of this. hmmm...

Sorry about the wildly off-topic post, though. Slightly more on topic: 'cyber cafe's were huge in Turkey in the early 00s; I had Starcraft-addicted cousins who practically lived in those places. They're all but extinct nowadays though.
I think you're misinterpret my comment. I was talking about;

Steam hwsurvey which related to;
cyber cafe (CC) which related also with;
PXE/network booting system which was/is used by some CCs especially;
50++ computers CCs where almost all CCs using;
Windows.

I think you should seek help on GoL forum here. Some GoL readers may help you with your problem(s). Just open a new thread/topic there.

Go mad over popping bubbles in the new puzzle game Tiny Bubbles
By Anza, 10 May 2018 at 3:16 pm UTC

Quoting: Purple Library GuyI've been looking for something that I can play for a few minutes in between doing other things. Thing is, most of my games aren't really suited to that--like Stellaris, for instance: Once you're in, it's for a good long time. This looks like just the sort of pause-to-relax-for-a-minute thingie I'm looking for.

Actually, your Stellaris description fits good puzzle games too...I spent several hours playing Tiny Bubbles. Difference is that games like Tiny Bubbles are more suitable for shorter sessions, if you manage to keep the sessions short...

Quoting: GuestDid this ever get fixed by the way? I'm thinking of buying it even though I was initially going to wait for a sale

Is it just me or does it sound like they're not doing "that" great profit wise as a company atm?

https://steamcommunity.com/app/336940/discussions/0/1694919808750310404/

It does look like a very charming game, is it worth the money?

I know personally my Steam controller isn't properly recognized (the game thinks it's a mouse according to the log file), but Liam tested gamepad functionality for puppy games and it worked fine for him. I uploaded a config that mimics the expected control layout, so a steam controller should work either natively or by tricking the game into thinking you're using a kbd & mouse.e

As for their financials, I don't know for sure obviously, but it sounds like the game isn't flying off the shelves, but they, like a lot of indie games, have no marketing budget.

I think it's worth the money, but your tastes may vary. You could always try it and get a refund if you don't like it.

Dang, it's out already? ^^

Just redeemed my key on GOG. But I haven't even finished the first one yet.
Now, I really need to take some time continue playing PoE.

Judging by the videos I saw so far PoE II looks gorgeous! I'm really looking forward to it.

I'm one of the first backers and follwed the project since the very beginning, i also had a chat with the developer at the "Lucca Comics And Games" in Italy.
The final version offline the game is even better than i imagined, and it's pretty ejoyable in it's own, bit since it's full of referencences from the movies, you should really watch some of them.

Also... The developers had a contact with the actors themselves, they should have made a video to advertize the game, but sadly Bud Spencer died just before the beta version was completed.

This game is also a tribute to him.

Quoting: tuubi
Quoting: devnullIt's more common then you think. There's a reason NVIDIA actively tries to prevent such installs.
Why would they care enough to do that? Do you mean that they don't actively support them?

IIRC, nvidia supports that feature only on their 'pro' models (the Quadro, etc.). The reason why it takes a convoluted hack is that consumer models hide the necessary info, which is by design on nvidia's part.

Im interested in their canonical plan with this.

Unless its just throwing darts blindfolded to see where they have success and then persuing the opportunity.

Maybe Valve will pump money into wine and stream all pc games from Linux to Androids and iPads locally XD
