Awesome. FYI it's only working for EUR prices currently. I'm pretty sure the sale % will be consistent across regions though.

Quoting: ripperJust a note, you can easily filter for Linux games deals at your preferred store using isthereanydeal.com. You can place titles in your wishlist and be notified via email or rss. Maybe we don't need to re-implement that site here, that one works really well.

Or perhaps some of us appreciate being able to come here for our news and deal searches knowing they are already narrowed down to linux.

The effort is appreciated.

Minecraft 1.10 released, adds Polar Bears and more
By slaapliedje, 8 June 2016 at 11:08 pm UTC Likes: 1

Is it weird that I had far more fun with setting up a server and getting the plethora of mods working together than I did playing the game? But it got to a point where every time there was an official release, they ended up adding in only some bits of some of the great mods I used, which of course broke the whole mod. It became a horrible battle so I just gave up and moved onto other games.

I tried Minecraft in my Vive, and while it has high potential to be a lot better and creepier, it is still Minecraft which I have not really enjoyed since before they added alchemy.

I am fully aware other sites exist. That particular websites Linux filter doesn't even work, tons upon tons of Windows only games when filtering to Linux.

Like everything on GOL, we do things our own way because we want to do it differently.

Picked up X Rebirth for 75% off, will wait for expansions to go on sale also.

GOG has Linux as a platform option on their website. Thats good enough for now, the galaxy app is still in beta.

It will certainly be useful during Steam sales. ;) Also gone are the days when I could name all Linux games. I look at the list, and there is a bunch I have never even heard of. Man, I imagine it's nigh impossible for them to get any publicity on more saturated platforms.

An EVE Online developer has built an unofficial Linux launcher, game uses Wine
By 14, 8 June 2016 at 9:44 pm UTC

Wow. We don't need non-Linux gamers to troll the site. Thinking of this asshole: c3224.

Some of us put gaming as a lower priority than the rest of general operating system use. We don't want to use Windows and sacrifice gaming a little. When we can still play games, it's great.

I bought in when they released their first alpha; I was 14 and in 9th grade at that time, and now I'm 21. Needless to say it blew up with my friends and my other classmates shortly after... I ended up playing that game so much I now can barely look at the game without sighing.

Great memories though... Sad Microsoft has taken over, I feel bad for the devs that had to go through that change.

GLFW 3.2, a multi-platform API for developers released with Vulkan support
By ElectricPrism, 8 June 2016 at 8:54 pm UTC

If I recall correctly GLFW was more modular than SDL too whereas SDL was more procedural. It's been a long time, I can't remember why I didn't choose GLFW then.

Obviously now, Vulkan support is a excellent reason to choose it IMO now to spin up some prototypes.

YES and I would love to have Tomb Raider 1 - 4, Legend, Anniversary and Underworld ;)

I would be happy if I can play Anniversary in Linux. My first played Tomb Raider was for SEGA Saturn (I played again two months ago and it works!!!). I would like to replay the same story with better graphics in Linux again. Are the Feral Gods hearing me?

Not the most elegant solution but I remember playing The Anniversary through wine - worked absolutely flawlessly.

Quoting: PlintslchoThere're people way older than you are that still greatly enjoy Minecraft, believe me. ;-)

Ironically, the only people who are adamant that Minecraft is for kids are those who were recently children/young teens. That said, I am pleased to see Minecraft still works well on Linux even though it is owned by Microsoft. I can only wonder how much longer this version equality will last and so I've been cozying up real close to Minetest lately.

last time I played was when bukkit was still around, I quit playing when they started taking bukkit down. I don't have a clue what they were thinking. The community provides a lot of support and keeps the online community going, and mojang just takes it down.
