The library only does what is needed for game specific things like achievements, progress and multiplayer game matching.
I would say posting on this forum or using Steam both will use potentially more user identifiable data than a system used to track how many deer you've shot and other achievement counters. :-)

Im not behind a vpn at all. Is this square enix online library doing more than trying to open a socket to call home? :P
Anybody with more time than me can checkout the system calls and allay my concerns here?
Id love to be able to sandbox games, although I dont know if it is possible and keep access to the GPU

Think of a tool that let's you decide the start-up settings for ALL your games that utilize SDL. Resolution, windowed/not windowed, single/multi screen, etc.. Configurations should be a prioritized list, so if your default is not supported, game will fall back to the next configuration until it finds a supported one. If it finds none, the tool is called with limiters.

The GOG.com page for Shadow Warrior 2 still lists it as being Windows only, but given it is mostly a provisional page made for later expansion, I am not sure if that means much.
I would certainly be willing to give Hard Reset Redux a try too if it comes to Linux.

I had abysmal performance on the opening cinematic, which had the video freeze at times although the audio kept going without a hitch. But once the actual gameplay started that pretty much cleared up.
My biggest issues with the game itself are more content-based, especially how the game falls in love with its death scenes. I know that Lara dying in interesting ways is a tradition that goes back to the first game, but they go a little nuts with it here. Especially the river scene!
It also turns into pretty much Ms. Shooty Woman after a while, and exploring all these cool environments takes a back seat to killing a couple hundred mooks who have no sense of self-preservation, then move on to the next set piece and do it again. Not really what I want out of a Tomb Raider game.
I do really like all the platforming though. The running and jumping bits are really satisfying, and you really do get that sense of adventure from them. The cliff village is a great example, or running through the cave early on.

Nice! The first game was far better than I had expected and this looks like a *Must Have!* title as well. I certainly hope this also means that "Hard Reset Redux" will show up on Linux as well.
"Hard Reset Redux, is now in the works. It's being built on the latest version of the Roadhog engine (which is also being used for Shadow Warrior 2) and will include all of the content in the original Hard Reset as well as the Exile expansion. The overhauled edition will feature improved graphics, new enemy variants, and changes to pacing and balance"

In short test game seems stable and runs very good and cpu and gpu use is very high

Yes it is possible with a lot of time. Which is not really profitable. Considering there are not too many(percentage wise) people who actually interested in FPS but rather in smooth game-play and smooth game play can be even achieved with 30 FPS it is even more evidently that it is not main focus while porting games. So yes will hope that developers will stop using directx at all ore porting from directx to vulkan will be without big performance loss.

But the ports are native, aren't they? I thought if you need to rewrite the whole engine anyway, it might be possible to get the best performance out of OpenGL that is possible.
