Humble Introversion Bundle
By KIAaze, 6 December 2011 at 12:31 am UTC

Quoting: "Hamish, post: 2669, member: 6"This one is a proper Bundle at least, but it is out of my reach anyway as I do not have my own credit card, and my brothers credit is tied up in the new Rav4 he is getting (same problem I had when HiB 2 was released, car payments, though thankfully I did get them in the end though HiB 3, though I did miss out on the HiB 1 promotional effort that was part of it). So I will probably have to pass, even though I am interested in playing the much hyped Introversion titles and Aquaria. Not having Desura keys also diminishes its value. :(

If you still didn't get the bundle, I bought one extra to gift. Let me know if you're interested. :)

Well, that just makes things worse doesn't it? Still, I have noticed that developers with Mac ports seem less willing to put them up on Steam so far compared to the ones with Linux ports putting them up on Desura.

Quoting: "Beemer, post: 2677"Yes it is. They're on Steam why not Desura? Also, unlike Steam, Desura has a Linux client. So, If you're Mac or MS Windows, you can choose direct download, bit torrent, or a distribution client. Why should Linux have to go without that last choice?

The whole idea of the bundles are 'cross-platform'. If Steam supported Linux, there wouldn't be an issue.

This is not true!
I am stil waiting on Aquaria, Hammerlight, Samorost 2, Cortex Command, Voxatron, Chocolate Castle, Jasper's Journeys, Zen Puzzle Garden for Mac OSX on Steam.

Quoting: "sparr, post: 2676"It's not very reasonable to ask for Desura keys for games that aren't on Desura...

Then why was it not irresponsible for them to demand games get ported to Mac and Linux in the past? Because to be a part of the Bundle, you have to fulfil certain guidelines. Desura keys were part of the value that the Bundles offered. So I still do not see the problem. If you want to be a part of the Bundle, you have to make yourself presentable first.

It's really irritating that they didn't include Desura keys in the last two bundles. I use Desura and Steam but I prefer to use Desura for managing my Linux games. At this point it's an inconvenience to access my Humble keys through their site in order to update my games.

I struggle to see why people don't want to go on Desura or any other platform for that matter - all of it equals more exposure for them :S

By Hamish, 22 November 2011 at 10:39 pm UTC

Seconded. If they are already making demands on the developers to release for all three platforms, I do not think it would be too much to ask for them to demand they get on Desura as well.

At any rate, I bet that Desura will release a Mac port long before Steam ever thinks of releasing for Linux, so supporting Desura makes more sense in the long run.

Quoting: "liamdawe, post: 2670"I spoke to the humble folks before, Desura keys are down to the developer :(

To be honest, if a dev supports Steam in the Bundles, they should be required now to support Desura as well. The Bundles are billed as cross platform and are (via direct Bundle downloads) available, but the nice 'all-in-one' shop (Steam) is leaving Linux users out of the loop.

If Steam were to add Linux support as well, then I could see leaving it as a choice to developers to have them available via Steam or Desura or (insert future competition here) or direct download only.

Just a note in case anyone was wondering/missed it - No Desura keys again. I wish they would say just what is stopping this. The Bundles are supposed to be promoting cross platform games, but then fall short on the distribution. Especially considering now that Linux users actually have a decent distribution platform, they stop using it.

They are on Steam already, so they should really get on Desura. I would be a perfect fit for them I think.

Steel Storm 2 announced - A new FPS game coming!
By , 20 November 2011 at 11:02 pm UTC

http://two.steel-storm.com has a concept art of the protagonist and the logo. From there, you can get to my dev blog and see the concept art of one of the weapons. Not much, I know, but the weekend is upon me, so family time is a must! Next week I'll have more art.

Humble Voxatron Debut is over + Info on the next Bundle!
By KIAaze, 19 November 2011 at 11:46 am UTC

:/
I already have all Introversion games except Multiwinia and Subversion.

My favourite game of the voxatron bundle so far is Blocks That Matter. I just love all the references to other games, as well as the gameplay itself.
Second is Voxatron (which is the only one I completed). Gish I already had.
Chocolate castle and Zen puzzle garden are fun and cute puzzle games.
The Binding of Isaac seems a bit boring, despite the completely crazy intro and weird objects (which never tell you what they do :/ ). The enemies just seem too easy to beat, even though I haven't finished the game yet. I especially do not like not being able to save... and random dungeons...
Jasper's journey I haven't played much yet, but looks like a standard platformer.
