Minecraft Wedding Weekend
By KIAaze, 13 August 2011 at 12:20 am UTC

Quote(ps, we are aware of the typo in the graphics, but it’s too expensive to fix now)

I'm confused. Which typo?
At first I thought "wub" instead of "love", but then a quick google search gave me this:

QuoteWub

"Wub wub wub" means "wuv wuv wuv" or "love love love" or "<3 <3 <3". But since "love" and "<3" aren't as cuddly, "wub" is frequently used to display affection with more pinkish. It usually comes with plushies.
Pink Gummy bears with "I wub you" are classic examples.

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=wub

I think I might be missing something in the english language.
(Yes, urban dictionary is not a great reference for that. I know. ^^)

And how expensive can it be to change "wub" to "love" in the picture or any other part of the text (assuming the creator of the picture stored a raw version with layers)?!

Well, some regarding multiplayer shooters some people might disagree.

Linux can never have too many multiplayer games. I never tried caster, but this might be the little extra something that gets me interested in it.

Caster multiplayer on the way?
By Eddward, 11 August 2011 at 10:38 pm UTC

I liked Caster. The mechanics with the high speed and jumping was cool and I like the look and sound. With the exception of certain tribes2 mods and the RPG crossfire, I haven't gotten too much into online games. It probably because most of my friends don't play video games and I just haven't enjoyed most of crowds I've found so far.

I've been worried that there would not be much more of Caster however. I got the impression that Elecorn was selling to for too little and promising too much with the all future episode being free. Seemed like he had committed to a lot of work for not much money. I would have been happy if he'd have charged $5 per-episode or charge more and just deliver a little more often. I'd suggest he change the business model but some jerk would probably raise a stink.

Also another fun part of Caster was improving your skills. It's just too easy to max out after a single episode. It is cool to be maxed out by the end of an episode, but then there's no where to go with the next episode. It might be nice if there were more ways to improve the character in each episode. Maybe adding new abilities. But that would be difficult to keep interesting.

All the same, I would be glad to see a new episode and I don't think online play would be a bad thing these days. It would be cool to see a bunch of Casters zipping around. A high speed Caster capture the flag could be very cool.

BEEP-Game Review and Gameolith
By Hamish, 13 August 2011 at 8:36 am UTC

Quoting: "Powelly1995, post: 2119"First off, i'd like to award BEEP the prestigious award of "The only game that I haven't had to go digging for dependencies and that works right off the bat".

Really? I never have had any real problems.

Edit: I also notice that Steel Storm is now on Gameolith. Good show. :D

I think you got something mixed up - The game is called Bullet Candy, not Scoregasm(That game is still in development).

Haaf's Game Engine (HGE) comes to Linux!
By KIAaze, 7 August 2011 at 2:02 pm UTC

The icculus bugtracker mentioned some issues with multimouse support on GNU/Linux, so hopefully this will speed up the bugfixing a bit. :)
Even more reasons to pay for the HIB again. Maybe the 2 million $ mark can be passed this time. (or 400000 purchasers which would be even more significant I think)

The Magnificent Seven (Humble Indie Bundle)
By Liam Dawe, 5 August 2011 at 7:44 pm UTC

This is a Fantastic deal and you would have to be an idiot to miss it. These bundles are increadible for the fact that they actually get games ported to Linux in the process - those games then go on to be sold in the USC and Desura (So other people can grab it when that's finished).

It's never been a better time to be a Linux Gamer.

I just hope the new Doom 3 source helps to make FPS games on Linux a bit more interesting.

Doom 3/ID Tech 4 source code release this year!
By Hamish, 4 August 2011 at 11:40 pm UTC

Keep in mind through that much of id Tech 4's features have already been implemented in DarkPlaces or XReal. When it comes to source ports it is quite interesting, even if most of the games on the engine are native already. :D

The Humble Indie Bundle #3 now 11 games
By Liam Dawe, 4 August 2011 at 9:27 am UTC

You have to have the port number on the end, as for timing out thats odd i will check server logs and see it may be down.

Edit > It was down on the 1st of August but it's been solid since then according to the logs, care to try again? You do need to copy the whole address, ip and port together it's why it's listed :)

There's someone on it now so it should be fine.

The Humble Indie Bundle #3 now 11 games
By KIAaze, 3 August 2011 at 9:58 pm UTC

Just tried and it says "you are not whitelisted on this server".
If I add the port number, i.e. enter 83.222.240.184:29265, the connection just times out and I get some socket read error.

P.S.: It's a trap! Just like the free-to-play WoW. Game developers are trying to trap us in their games! xD
I don't think I should spend more time on minecraft. It runs and that's it. :P

What did you think to Minecraft? We have a server, get on it ;)

The Humble Indie Bundle #3 now 11 games
By KIAaze, 3 August 2011 at 9:37 pm UTC

11 games + 1 limited trial to be more exact. :)
Or 1 limited time trial (minecraft), 1 in development (cortex command), 2 episodes of one (steel storm) + 9 complete games.
But why am I criticising, when I'm planning to buy it a second time? ^^
Just wanted to add a reminder of minecraft, which I've now finally tried for the first time. :)

OpenClonk and Humble Indie Bundle updates.
By KIAaze, 2 August 2011 at 11:06 am UTC

It's worth noting that Clonk came out before Terraria, Minecraft and Cortex command. ;)
I'm not sure if it's the first game with a "dynamically modifiable landscape" (more than just worms-like terrain), but it's quite old.

I am still playing Age of Empires through WINE at the moment, but a nice native distraction would be quite nice. Still, I am still suspicious of any 3D strategy games, though 0 A.D. gives me enough motivation to try and look past my previous experiences with them.

IndieCIty - New game store coming soon!

I would rather leave it up to admins and mods to sort out honestly, so people don't end up deleting wrong posts of theirs.
