Steam Deck open source Playstation Remote Play app 'chiaki4deck' gets smoother
7 Feb 2024 at 4:06 pm UTC

Using it on my deck to connect to my PS4. It works quite good now, but I had to tinker a bit.
5GHz Wifi causes big stutters but 2,4GHZ Wifi work a lot better for me. Using 720p stream with 20000kb/s

On my Desktop PC, connected via Ethernet cable, Chiaki works with 1080p also on 20000kb/s without any issues.
Great project for Steam Deck.

AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution comes to Gamescope for the Steam Deck
1 Feb 2022 at 4:38 pm UTC

Nice!!! chaotic-aur has already a build with mentioned changes online.
Waited a long time for this. Its pretty usefull if you have an older GPU like mine.

You can use the -U argument to enable FSR for gamescope and you can even toggle FSR on and off with the "Super + U" keycombo.

Praise Gaben :D

The development release Wine 6.11 is out now, pulls in patch to help Roblox work on Linux

Hogs of War? What a great game this was back in the days :) I could not manage to run it without graphics issues on wine. So I used the ps1 emulator duckstation. Would be great, if they managed to get it properly working.

Steam Play Proton 5.13 gets a Release Candidate, Valve working on new Vulkan extension

Quoting: SpykerThis 5.13 update has been really rocky for me. I still have to deal with a lot of regressions, like my optimus laptop not working anymore with proton titles, even when I come back to 5.0.10 now it seems broken (probably a mix-up with runtime libs as weel). I really hope they get it squared out soon.
Yes Proton 5.13 handles somethings in the wineprefixes different: It creates symlinks instead of copying the files. So if you go back to on older version, the symlinks cannot be overwritten and nothing works anymore.

As a workaround you can delete the wineprefix for your game in $SteamLibraryDir$/steamapps/compatdata/
Start the game again, with an older proton version and all will be fine

Quoting: DrDickGindProject Cars 3, works great with enough wine ;)
What do you think? Early reviews haven't been particularly kind...
Sorry for late answer, the game runs pretty well and the carrer mode is also fun. The only down side is, that if you dont like the carrer, you wont have cars to drive, cause you need to unlock them with points.

Another downside is that the KI in "Own Event" mode is so dumb, the just drive in a line through all the Nordschleife... no exceptions. But I run the release version and have no updates installed. Maybe the fixed it.

Would give it an good 75 score
