HUNTDOWN: OVERTIME looks like a glorious follow-up to HUNTDOWN from 2021

The original Huntdown really nails the 80's era Cannon action movie look and feel, and it's a solid run n' gun. This should be awesome.

Start 2026 off right with the massive 77 map mod Quake Brutalist Jam III

I was only able to get something like 20 minutes in on this yesterday, but damn is it impressive so far. I might just be out of the loop on Quake mods, but I've never seen anything on this scale before in terms of map size. Already stumbled on a couple secrets, can't wait to really dig into it.

On the off chance I actually play through all of this, does anyone have any other recent Quake mods they recommend checking out?

Talking point - what have you been playing lately?

In an effort to finish some uncompleted games in my library, I'm back to MechWarrior 5: Clans after dropping the difficulty. Once I realized I just wanted to finish the story and was sick of getting stomped in every campaign it became a much more enjoyable experience.

I've also been jumping between Demonschool and Blippo+. Demonschool's good for when I want a bit of tactical puzzle action, and Blippo+ has been great when I just want to watch some TV without actually picking something. I also enjoy it's general weirdness and impressively accurate reproduction of 80's public access.

The huge TimeSplitters Rewind fan project launches in November

Very cool. I missed TimeSplitters when it came out somehow, it was just something other folks talked about. Looking forward to giving this a shot (and hearing about how accurate a remake it is).

I had completely forgotten about Deadlock until I saw this. Interesting note on the controller improvements, is anyone playing on Deck? How's it run?

Was just thinking this. I feel like these sorts of updates show up any time a new Valve announcement is pending, so fingers crossed for some new VR toys.

Coooooool.

FYI, I had some terrible input stuttering when I first launched the game, apparently because it didn't seem like that I had a gamepad connected. Unplugged, relaunched, and ran just fine.

Really hoping for a new VR kit. My Index is starting to show it's age, would love to upgrade it.

VITURE One XR glasses look fun paired up with a Steam Deck

This Kickstarter got shared on a game dev discord I'm on, and while it does look cool I'm a bit skeptical. The tech totally exists, but I think I've only seen videos/reviews coming from official VITURE channels, which is always big red flag.

Quoting: ObsidianBlkThat brings me to my final worry... The presentation. It's all quite slick looking, but what gets me is that the very first thing that's been focused on with this bit of kit is how they went to "one of the most prestigious design firms" to come up with the style for these glasses. Sure, few people what to have duct-tape and cardboard (<- Ha! Google) strapped to their face, but it feels telling that the very first thing the creators of this revolutionary new tech gadget wants to impress upon you is how good it looks. How well it functions comes later. Let's talk about how good it looks.
So much this. It screams early 90's VR, where there's a whole lot of effort and hype put towards saying how great it looks/feels/works, without a lot of data or ouside reviews to actually back it up.
