Humble Indie Bundle 6!

Woah, didn't even realize Rochard is a Unity game. I expect we'll be seeing a LOT more of those in the HIB's in the days to come.

Also looks like 3 of the ports were done by Edward Rudd. I love when he does ports because things tend to just work with Twinview.

Man, I was hoping for the Humble Steam Linux Beta Bundle. Buy the HIB, get into the Steam Linux beta!

On the other hand, a very nice looking set of games. I've been wondering when Dustforce was gonna get a Linux build.
I'm guessing they must have discovered some super bugs in the Linux/Mac builds of Vessel just before the HIB launched, can't see any other reason they'd be late like that.

FTL Game released!

Quoting: "Bumadar, post: 5428, member: 93"this now officially is my 1st released kickstarter funded game...... it's pretty cool, just not sure I like how the saving works yet, but it does add something to the game, have to agree.

First time playing a roguelike? :p

Game is amazing though. Managed to beat it around my 7th run. Engi ship is OP once you get a drone recovery arm and three offensive drones.

Steam Greenlight Has Some Linux Options

Quoting: "Hamish, post: 5382, member: 6"The fact that Windows is still listed as PC induced a groan from me...

*shrug* It's pretty much an industry standard now and it's unlikely to change anytime soon. Best to learn to live with it and move on!

Faster Than Light coming September 14th!

Feh, I missed the kickstarter for this :(

A real pity to, game looks very good, but I have to wait until the 14th.

Example Unity 4 Titles Ready For Testing

Unitroid seems to work great here, only issue: Apparently a screen is supposed to pop up before the game loads which lets you select graphics options. That does not happen :(

AngryBots on the other hand runs like absolute garbage for me. My FPS is more realistically measured in FPM. Which is odd considering the NaCl version runs just fine...

Edit: Nope, I lied, AngryBots runs like garbage... only if I have XBMC open. That's... a little odd, no other program I've ever used has had any issues with XBMC open.

Humble Bundle for Android 3
15 Aug 2012 at 7:12 pm UTC

Looks like they're still doing the Ubuntu Software Center which is cool, even though I don't personally use it.

On the games:
Spirit: Very well done, it actually took me a few levels to realize something. In it's most basic form the gameplay is basically Lemmings.

Fieldrunners:
../Code/Engine/Utilities/FileUtilities.cpp:328: void GET_RESOURCE_PATH_FROM_MAIN_BUNDLE(const char*, const char*, const char*, NextStep::String*&, bool): Assertion `outResourcePath != __null' failed.
Aborted (core dumped)

SpaceChem and Uplink: Already had from previous bundles, but it's nice to get them on Android I guess

Bit.Trip Beat:
As always from the Bit.Trip games very fun rhythm based game.

Dungeons of Dredmor: Conquest of the Wizardlands!

Quoting: "liamdawe, post: 5163, member: 1"To be fair gaslamp as just as much to blame they constantly botch up the Desura patches too.

Eh, it's everything with Desura. The lack of patches, the lack of actually having a dev anymore, the only starting about a third of the time and just crashing the rest. The crashing when trying to fetch updates. etc etc

Yeah, I just went ahead and bought the DLC on steam. The steam version still comes with updated Linux binaries and I got tired of dealing with Desura.

New Valve Linux Blog Post Talks About Performance
2 Aug 2012 at 4:54 pm UTC

Quoting: "MyGameCompany, post: 5131, member: 68"Considering Microsoft has announced that Windows 8/Metro will not support OpenGL, I rather suspect that Valve won't bother investing time in that option.

That's a bit misleading. Currently METRO STYLE apps can't do opengl. Normal apps, which is probably all valve will ever release considering you have to go through the windows store to sell metro apps, will still be able to do OpenGL.
