Probably easier (and less liekly to break with updates) Launch steam by running the following command (or something like it) "xdg-open steam://library [External Link]".
As far as I can tell as long as steam is opened using and xdg link then it won't give you the "No Linux for you" window

Seems you may be able to try and play/download games without being in the beta. Install the Steam client, go to the steam website, go to a Lnux game you own, and hit the play button and tell it to launch! Can't see if it actually downloads the Linux version right now (at work), but it might!

Looks like Linux has been added as an OS choice on the steam website for searches!

The lack of the gui launcher is an issue with unity, unity 4 (and especially the linux exporter) are still very much beta.
Humble Indie Bundle 6 adds more games!

Favorable might be overstating it a tad.
Classifying Linux as "busy work" doesn't really strike me as "favorable"
That's on the agenda as something to discuss, but we're a small team that doesn't know much about Linux and don't want to grow or take on busy work. That said, we know there is a demand and we do like to please.
