For Serious Sam: The First Encounter there's also the original Linux installer from icculus.org [External Link] or an updated installer from the Loki Installers for Linux Gamers project [External Link] if you don't want to build the engine yourself.

Quoting: fleskWas The Inner World ever fixed for Linux? When I last played it, it was missing music and cutscenes, and used the lower res graphics and UI from the mobile version. Not a great experience, and I gave up on it pretty quickly.
No, unfortunately the game never received an update, but both music and cutscenes are included and are working reasonably well. However cutscenes will only play with the "correct" Java version installed - I'm currently using Oracle Java 8 now, but I remember that the cutscenes were just skipped when using Java 7. (Haven't tried OpenJDK.)

Hints for people that want to play it:
  • The inventory can be accessed by pressing the Tab key
  • Don't click on the wrench in the settings dialogue (where you can adjust the sound volume - the wrench in the inventory to open the settings menu is fine) - you will be teleported to a much later section of the game, standing in front of a gate
  • Videos will be played in a separate window

Even with these technical deficiencies this is easily one of the best games I've ever played - I absolutely adore the game's humor.

Quoting: CyrilI have to say I don't know if this game will be good, but I prefer to reproduce/save the bees than kill them. Especially in our century. I don't want people to kill bees IRL just for fun, but that's already the case sometimes... :(
Having a look at the shape it's more of a wasp anyway ;-)

I guess I should mention that in real live I kill neither lost hipsters nor bees.

The "Ubuntu" version is just a regular archive with binaries in it (instead of a .deb archive as one could expect); or in other words: you don't need the Flatpack version for distribution independence, just use the regular archive - it should run on any recent distribution.
