Steam Deck Verified has issues, Grand Theft Auto V edition

As others have noted, this isn't entirely surprising since R* have their own launcher that they update independently of Valve running their "Verified" program. I ran into a similar problem when R* recently updated their launcher while I was playing through GTA IV. Just one more reason why people should only buy games that are actually supported on Linux by the devs, I guess.

No idea, but if you're not already aware it's always been completely free [External Link] and always will be.
I mean this new version obviously. But I got my answer, they do have a itch.io page for it, so I'm fine and I'll be waiting for it there.
This is news to me. Could you provide a link? Maybe Liam could include it in the article.

It's always amazing how much work goes into this game. Hopefully the new graphics and menus lower the "barrier for entry" sufficiently for some people who were previously reluctant to play DF; but I also hope the ASCII mode works just as well and that the menus can still be driven by keyboard (or DF classic continues to be updated to keep feature parity with the Steam version). Not sure if they've decided on a price yet, but after playing DF for ~15 years already, it'll be worth the cost no matter what price they put on it.

XCOM1 is a more relaxed game. XCOM2 is more 'race against the clock' from the outset.

Quoting: morgancoxukJust bought it - I spent many many hr's on the Amiga (AGA) version in the mid 90's, however it compares to that i'm sure it will be worth £2.10...
Personally, I don't think it does compare to the original UFO: Enemy Unknown -- they're two very different beasts. But that doesn't mean that the modern XCOM games aren't great games in their own right. I recommend OpenXcom for replaying the original.
