Quoting: HamishSorry, I could not resist.Hah! I spent a couple of minutes searching youtube for a clip of that exact scene. I was going to make a comment about car crashes involving trees in Sweden and see if anyone got it, but ultimately decided against it. Glad to see there's another Dwarfer on GoL in any case. :D

I adore this game, but it can be very unforgiving. Too many times I've rushed into a fight with a wolf, thinking I was armed to teeth and safe against anything the game could throw at me, only to raise my rifle at the oncoming threat, perfectly aim at it, squeeze the trigger... and hear the sad little click that means you forgot to load the barrel when you had the chance.
RIP Survivor #287.

Steam now has a form of platform-specific wishlisting, to help developers see demand

I only wishlist games that are on Linux, since my less-techy friends and family often buy me birthday/Christmas gifts from it (it's either that or socks!).
If I start wishlisting non-Linux games, I'm inevitably going to end up receiving Steam gifts that I can't play. :(

Normally masquerading sonames as other versions is a Very Bad Idea™ (due to API changes), but in this case Debian arbitrarilly changes the soname version from 0 to 3 for no discernable reason.

Quoting: README.DebianUpstream's library version is much lower than Debian's - PCRE_LIB_VERSION=0:1:0Debian even use the upstream sources, they just patch the version numbers:
instead of 13:0:10 (soname libpcre.so.0 instead of libpcre.so.3)
Quoting: patches/soname.patchFrom: Mark Baker <[email protected]>So linking libpcre16.so.3 to libpcre16.so.0 in this instance should be fine.

This could easily be the best colony building simulation available on Linux right now.I honestly can't see any game ever taking that title away from Dwarf Fortress. :P

I need to get a few episodes of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, and Skies of Arcadia: Legends recorded before I go away on holiday in a couple of weeks time, so I'll be playing those a lot this weekend. I might play a bit of Everspace too, and/or L4D2 which I haven't played in a while.

I guess it depends on how much value you place on the story in a game. If you only play video games to shoot people in the face or solve complex puzzles, then you probably won't enjoy story-driven games with little or none of those elements.
