SteamVR support for Linux looks like it's getting close
14 Jan 2017 at 12:09 am UTC

Quoting: numasanQuestion to you who are on the fence or don't care about VR. Have you tried it?
Yep. Granted it was a couple of years ago now, but it was still a proper headset experience. I won't deny that it wasn't a pretty neat experience, very immersive and all that, but I don't think it's the future of gaming. At least, not until it comes way down in price and a lot of really solid games come out for it.

That's cool. It sucks when content is otherwise unavailable to us, just because we didn't get a day one edition on Linux.

Observer, a new horror from the 'Layers of Fear' developer and publisher Aspyr Media announced
11 Jan 2017 at 12:03 am UTC

Hm, Layers of Fear is a brilliant horror game -- one of the few that actually creates an atmosphere of fear, and doesn't just rely on jump scares -- so I might get this one on that predigree alone; however, I'm not sold on the premise. I hope it proves to be a good game!

I was kinda hoping for a Skies of Arcadia style game, but this looks fun too!

Eco - Global Survival Game, an incredibly interesting looking game that's already on Linux

I think this would be fun to play on a private server. Despite the friendly greeting you received, I fear it's only a matter of time before trolls/griefers descend.

We have 99 keys of IMPOSSIBALL to give away to Linux gamers willing to test it out

Thank you for the key.

It runs well, but I seem to have an intermittent issue when using a mouse where I can't move my paddle to the bottom of the screen. It's almost as though the paddle already thinks it's at the bottom of the screen and won't move any lower. I have to move significantly up in order to be able to move down to the bottom.

This is using a Roccat Kone XTD, polling at 1000Hz, and running at 1000dpi.

I haven't tried playing with my steam controller yet.

Stefan Achatz, the developer who worked on Linux support for Roccat devices answers why he's stopping

Shame on anyone who said this was a lazy decision of him. He owes nobody anything, and deserves nothing but respect for all the effort he's put into this project over the years.

It is a shame that he's stepping down, and I do hope that someone steps in to keep his work going, be that Roccat themselves, or someone from the community.
