I like that you're not scripting it. That way people have the freedom to withhold information if they desire (for whatever reason).

Also wow, when you split the distros up, Arch is only just behind Ubuntu! (at least, at the moment!)

The graphs look cool. Good work, Liam!

Another developer to avoid in the future, methinks. If I didn't get the game free with my Steam controller, I'd definitely not be buying it after this charade.

Quoting: LinasIn a simple analogy, GTK2 is like HTML4 and GTK3 is like HTML5.

The Gtk2 analogy works, but the Gtk3 one would only make sense if, every six months there was a new HTML5 standard, the old ones stopped working, and w3.org was the only website updated to use the new one. :P

Quoting: WorMzyWould be better if it was GTK2, but oh well, maybe somebody will port it.
Yeah nothing like staying in the past :P

Out of interest, why?

Because gtk3 is a broken pile of crap, and I refuse to have it on my system. ;)

Quoting: Eike
Quoting: Mountain ManI'm still of the opinion that this whole VR craze is going to be another short-lived novelty like 3D televisions and motion controls (other than the Nintendo Wii) once people realize that it doesn't meaningfully enhance their gaming experience. Professional applications, yes, but entertainment? I don't see it.

I'm still to hear this opinion by someone who tried a real VR device. Did you?

For the record, I have tried a couple of VR demos (not including "cardboard" ), and I share the same opinion as Mountain Man. It's an interesting experience, and very immersive, but it isn't something I would pay X hundred pounds for, and I can't see that many games a) supporting it, or b) being particularly enjoyable while using it for more than say 20 minutes.

Sunday chat: what games have kept you busy with week?

I don't have much time to play at the moment, but I've been playing Armello natively, Stardew Valley and Clannad in wine. Also found some time for Final Fantasy X on the PS4.

Sunday chat: What have you been playing, and what do you think?

I had to get Tomb Raider refunded because it just segfaults on my PC. :(

On Linux I've been playing Don't Starve Together, Stardew Valley and Clannad (those last two using wine).

On PS4 I've been playing Final Fantasy X and Fallout 4.

Sorry if this is covered in the podcast, but picking a Valve game for 'episode 3', conscious choice y/n? :P

I can't wait to play it natively and start earning some Steam achievements. I'm gonna continue borrowing my girlfriend's copy to play through wine until then though.
