Quoting: tuubiWhy do Ubuntu users install manually when there's a PPA maintained by Ubuntu staff? A mystery for the ages. Or at least for me.You get Arch users doing the same thing, despite the official repositories having the latest Nvidia driver available. It's usually down to a lack of knowledge, or a lack of patience. Packages take a little while to be updated by their maintainers, and some people just aren't capable of waiting for that to happen.

Site update: Notification system updated

Cool. I disabled the notifications after getting so many. I've re-enabled them now, but it's immediately reported that I have 40 notifications. This suggests that the system is storing the notifications even though they're disabled, is this by design, or an oversight?
Also, disabling "Turn on notification area for: Comments" also disabled the notifications for likes. Is this a work in progress, and comments and likes are supposed to be controllable individually?

Eeeeewhaaaaaaaat?
But.. the steam client is 32-bit. It uses 32-bit flash for videos. It relies on 32-bit libraries to run on a 64-bit system, but it doesn't work properly on a 32-bit system? By design?
I'm not complaining. It's just fucking weird.

Deus Ex now seems to work properly (I loaded up the game, but didn't play for long while testing). I also opened up 20 instances of glxgears without issue, so I think they've addressed the big bug 375.20 introduced, but whether they've fixed all the regressions remains to be seen.
Stefan Achatz, the developer who helps get Roccat devices properly working on Linux to end his work

Such a shame. Roccat got my custom because of this one guy's work, and although the hardware has performed well, without the linux tools to configure them, they're little better than any of the competition.

What one game would blow your mind if it came to Linux & SteamOS?

Skyrim works well enough in wine for me, and GTA V was a bit of a let down (it seems like they cut a lot of content to bulk up GTA: Online). I'd be particularly happy if Fallout 4 came to Linux, but 3 or New Vegas would be good too (both have never worked brilliantly in wine for me).
Nvidia 375.20 stable driver released, increases OpenGL shader cache size and more

One of the issues Deus Ex has, is that it will often re-cache everything when you load it up (that long loading time when you first open it), this driver should hopefully be a fix for that.I can confirm that it does indeed fix this. :D
