STEAM is the main or only reason why PC is getting new games(Metal Gear, Dead Rising, Ryse), so I dont believe it will die ever, at most some co will surpass it.
U could always play offline in STEAM though.

Quoting: laveDRM-Free has nothing to do with that freedom concept from linux, its only a freedom in management of CLOSED-softwares, just like "moving box" by not touching/seeing its content, so I yet dont see why so much hate of it(DRM).Quoting: GoCorinthiansSTEAM FTW!i like how they push linux but the idea of steam within gnu/linux is perverting the actual idea of free software. what we trade here is freedom for convenience and the sole reason i go along with it is that i hope when steam dies off one day (and it will, all does eventually) it will have pushed linux a little. whenever i can i buy my games in DRM free fashion and dodge steam like the plague. i like what they do to push the developement of linux but still i see it as a trade with the devil.

As long Valve is heading to a final build in its SteamOS/Machines we will keep getting new games...
Lets pray that their OS begin a new age for PC games market by reaching consoles sells number and VALVE only will reach it ever if SteamOS/Machine gets a easy-friendly, reliable plataform as itss strong point.
Love it or not, Valve has in their hands the future of PC games market...
As some new AAA games(DR3,MGSV) are only getting a STEAM release not a PC release same as DayZ.
STEAM FTW!

Quoting: zimplex1The art style of almost all double fine games turn me off, and this game is no exception. I also don't find the game mechanic interesting, but it is very unique in it's own right. Im quite opposite...their art style is what I like most...:) Double Fine godness!

Quoting: Segata Sanshirolmao...indeed!Unbelievable. It is the reason why I stayed on windows this last year. And now that I'm decided to move to linux, bam, they announce that.We should really hold a "delete your windows partition month" or something on here considering these next these next few months are going to be pretty intense in terms of Linux releases.
Dammit I will stop buying games... about half of announced to linux already bought...chilvary too! dammit! Also maybe a "stop buying stuff before its ported month" :P
