Why We Shouldn't Accept Bad Linux Ports

Quoting: JestI think that bigger problem is bad PC ports of console games.
If game is bad port from console, it will run badly on all platforms.
I think this is problem that should be dealt with first.
Didn't dudes on Windows also cry about bad Witcher 2 performance?
Or is it even worse on Linux?
Thing is, that Steam is going to be a "console for PC", so we'll probably even see worse ports to linux ;-).
Quite contrary sir. Steam being a Console, will reduce all major problems for devs(random OSs, big variety of hardwares...) so in a few years we will play in well otimized games for PC on SteamOS.

New users will come, because "build ur PC" will not be a issue to noobs.

bad performance on windows? I running witcher 2 on windows max-settings at 55FPS, and my GPU isnt a 780ti!

They better buy a good high-end PC. Linux will not always be a Indie nest.

Barbie PC will not do anymore!

As for Consoles, apart exclusive games(yet some of theirs) and so far GTAV, every damn game of their are bad otimized too!

Quoting: GuestBought it, hopefully it will be more playable than the first one, and it will actually work on Arch Linux…

Amazed by the stupidy of Valve though, the game is not even shown on the page for Linux games on Steam. But we still have Super Meat Boy scrolling at the top, looks like it’s stuck there forever…
Valve godness! Hail to the king Gabe! PC GLORIOUS MASTER RACE!

Same problem for me on Kubuntu 14.04 x64/Nvidia. Tried also with XB360 Pad. No input. If I set keys manually, the game crashes. I had it installed since the "beta" was accidentially released on steam, maybe it works after re-download.. I'll try
openSUSE(uptodate) running fine with KB!
