Kingdom Come: Deliverance gets shown off on the Steam Deck

Quoting: rustybroomhandleAnd yeah, of course there's value in being on Steam. Doesn't stop people complaining about it.
Apart from some really delusional developers, I think everyone realizes the value of the Steam service, it's just that they don't want to give a 30% cut for this value. It's nothing surprising or new, people are always complaining about prices of anything. But does it ever work? Lowering the price wouldn't stop anyone from complaining - it will be either "still too much", or it will only work for some time before the topic returns. The only working factor is competition, and Steam competitors are still in the woods.

ChimeraOS 27 is out with touch-screen improvements for the AYA NEO
9 Nov 2021 at 4:14 pm UTC

Quoting: Stupendous ManYou might want to be careful with this upgrade, it didn't boot for me on my Ryzen 3200G box and I had to reinstall and downgrade to the earlier release.
The ChimeraOS creator was super helpful on the Discord though so no complaints, just something to keep in mind.
How did you downgrade? I wiped ChimeraOS and installed a more standard Arch flavour after all proton games stopped working in a new version and they said that "downgrades are not supported [External Link]".

Microsoft Edge available officially for Linux today as a stable browser

"A browser that combines a minimal design with sophisticated technology to make the web faster, safer, and easier"
They said it themselves, they put minimal effort other than reskin chromium, heh heh.

I guess it's useful for developers to have it on Linux for testing web pages, other than that I have no idea.

Sid Meier's Civilization V
Whaaaat, it finally works! I've tried running it in Proton for months, to no avail.
I can finally unlock the map-type achievements, that Aspyr never fixed on Linux...

I'm enjoying this trend and I wish more aged platformers were remastered and re-released.
Benefactor, Ruff'n'Tumble, Traps'n'Treasures, The Lost Vikings...

Linux has now seen 4 months of being above 1% on the Steam Hardware Survey

Quoting: GuppyHave they automated the hardware survey? I don't think I've had the popup in a couple of years now 🤔
I got one yesterday, so probably not.

Little Big Adventure 1 & 2 get open sourced under the GPL

Nice move. The first game already has a ScummVM engine, but maybe with the code now open, it will be easier to maintain/improve it (currently it mentions minor glitches). However there is no engine for LBA2. Fingers crossed.

The Kubuntu Focus M2 sounds like a great all-rounder laptop

Quoting: inckieIs this another shitty Clevo machine?
Probably, like all the other "custom" laptops. I learnt the hard way to avoid these - one component broke and there were *no* spare parts, anywhere. Or repair specs. Or even bios images (that's how the service killed it for good). The laptop now gathers dust in the basement.
