Steam Play is great for a younger audience with games like LEGO Jurassic World

I recommend trying out LEGO City Undercover. It worked since the initial release of proton but the sound was glitched (background effects were at full volume without the way to change it). Since proton 3.16-5 the sound is fixed and the game is perfectly playable, my kids are 65h in, with 95% completion. It crashes occasionally but judging by the reviews, it's typical to Windows as well, maybe even more so.

Having played lots of XMoto, this is *exactly* the kind of moto trials game I would expect. ;-)

The itch.io Winter Sale is live with plenty of indie games going cheap

I wanted to get Puzzle Puppers, but then I remembered that itch.io prices are fake, they add VAT on checkout. So I'll wait and get it on a steam sale instead.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive introduces a Battle Royale mode, goes free to play

Nice, I hate teamwork. :P

Although I think it would be better if they released the new mode as a standalone spinoff.

Cosmic horror metroidvania 'Lore Finder' has comfortably passed the Linux day-1 release goal
4 Dec 2018 at 12:06 am UTC

Quoting: scaineYou keep putting smilies, but it's clear you're actually serious, which is a shame. (...) this stretch goal wasn't for Linux support - they committed to that anyway. The stretch goal was for simultaneous launch.
1. Note that my comment was also about the day-1 promise, not about the Linux version in general.
2. I learnt not to trust any (Linux release) promises, I just take things as they come, and with a grain of salt on top.
3. I have nothing against this particular dev (just sort of commenting on the general trend), sorry if anyone felt offended by the insinuation, but of course I'll be more happy to be proved wrong. :-)

Move over Steam Link, there's a Raspberry Pi app in town now

"Since Valve are seemingly discontinuing their own Steam Link device, along with Steam Link applications for mobile devices"

Hm, did I miss something? The app seems to be alive, with the last update just three days ago? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.valvesoftware.steamlink [External Link]

Quoting: Nezchandev, who's already got a game out for Linux, is totally gonna forget about Linux.
Because it has never happened so far. ;-)

Two years from now: "Cosmic horror metroidvania 'Lore Finder' has comfortably forgotten the Linux day-1 release promise" :P

Valve have adjusted their revenue share for bigger titles on Steam
1 Dec 2018 at 6:57 pm UTC

TBH I've always thought that bigger publishers got lower fees by the rest of individual negotiations. Maybe they did and now Valve just wants to make things simpler and more transparent.

Feral Interactive are teasing another Linux port
28 Nov 2018 at 3:33 pm UTC

Quoting: liamdaweValkyria Chronicles 4 might be interesting, but it seems like a title that isn't popular enough for Feral. Looking on Steam, it has less than 1K reviews, pretty niche title it seems.
Maybe, but it's already platinum/gold with proton, so maybe it's as easy as packaging it with the Feral launcher and pushing to the store?
