Duke Nukem 3D: Atomic Edition for free from gog!
13 Dec 2012 at 11:05 pm UTC

Great news ! I never played Duke Nukem before, so I'll try.
I found an alternative installation method : add Duke Nukem 3D to your GOG account from their website. Then launch an up-to-date version of PlayOnLinux. In PlayOnLinux, search for Duke Nukem 3D, select download from the web, and everything will be installed using your GOG credentials.
I found that process extremely neat !

Oh, I didn't understand that Serious Sam 3 was temporarily free because of the beta. So I suppose I won't be able to play it any more, unless I buy it.

I am more than ready ! My first purchase will be Portal, since I never tried it and I saw nice videocasts of it.
As a side note, Steam for Linux coming this month made me finally decide to get rid of my Microsoft Windows partition. More room for Ubuntu 12.10, for documents and for games !

Getting GOG.com to support Linux
10 Jun 2012 at 11:04 pm UTC

As a "good to know" note, a lot of GOG.com games are supported on PlayOnLinux. They have partnered up together to create a pretty neat thing: from PlayOnLinux, you can enter your GOG username and password and directly download and install your Windows games.
If you take a look at their news posts (http://www.playonlinux.com/en/news.html [External Link]), you will see that a lot of new games are coming from GOG.
