XCOM: Enemy Unknown Released For Linux

Quoting: rustybroomhandleI'm running Manjaro (Arch-based) with KDE, and with or without compositing the performance is terrible. However, if I switch the window-manager to openbox with "openbox --replace" it improves a lot, even on High settings. This made me think: why doesn't SteamOS run over openbox instead of GNOME? Do they have plans to use it's graphical interface or something?

You guys are right, I am going to give 64-bit a try. But unless there's a way to switch without reinstalling Ubuntu all over again, it's going to be quite a hassle.

Quoting: FutureSutureIt's 2014, bro. [External Link]I've been avoiding 64-bit because I couldn't make CrossOver + MS Office 2010 work in it. Should have known that before spending 5 hours downloading this game. :|

Can't play. Says "missing executable". I've already tried deleting ~/.steam/steam/appcache and verifying game files integrity (inside Steam client), but it's still not running. What gives? Anyone else on the same boat?
EDIT: found the answer. Game only runs on 64-bit OSs. :(

If I remember correctly, they've promised this port for this summer, right? So that puts them two days ahead of schedule. Way to go, Feral, you deserve major respect from the gaming community!

I've bought it last year after it went on a Free Weekend. My plan was to play it for free on Mac and then wait for the Linux version, but I couldn't contain myself. My hope is that I can buy all the DLC to play it on Linux and make those sales count to our cause.
