Quoting: GuestSaid giveaway banner not present heh and the game page makes no mention of it. (yes I scrolled to the bottom, searched all the horizontal sliders/menus and ctrl F for it.)
Yup. Don't see nothing...

Quoting: EikeYou need some more patience, though. Five days later, I'm still at "Mailing starts in a short time" (sorry for the translation, what would that be in real English?).
Huh? If you get the email, you can purchase right? If you translated from a Nordic language I can try to translate.
You can send them the money immediately, yes, but shipping (the start of the shipping) takes some more days. I just wanted to look up the English and German text, but found it changed to "Shipped on 30 Aug, 2022 - Tracking". :) So, it was five days for me before the parcel went on its way. (I remember similar with the Steam Controller back then.)

*edit* Ah, so "shipping" would have been more clear, not "mailing", I guess.
Ah. Shipped. Time depends on where you are. Should be a few business days.

Oups! Currently, I'm running Rise of the Tomb Raider, Bioshock Infinite, The Outer Worlds and Resident Evil Village on my MicroSD Sandisk Pro... The loading times are a little longer, but for my part, it's not a deal breaker... It runs great... Am I doing a mistake?
Neh. I put guardians of the galaxy on it. It's a bit slower in terms of load times but other then that, no issues. And you can always move the games back to the ssd.

Steam Deck 2 is absolutely coming, new booklet from Valve confirms

Quoting: BlackBloodRumI don't think Steam Deck 2 is any time soon, remember we're working on Valve Time here

Quoting: tpauMore Open?
Maybe the Steam Launcher will become partially opensource so people can integrate other platforms and it still looks like it was done by valve by default?

For Deck2 it would be nice if we get a sim card slot and 5g compatibility. So you can truly play on the road without having to go through the hassle of creating a wifi hotspot with your cellphone.
That's one method of doing it. The other method (which I'd prefer, since a sim card would mean extra expenses) is to simply make the device work while offline properly.
That doesn't help with multiplayer or single-player-always-online-because-we-hate-our-customers games.
That's not Valve's problem though. If people don't want studios to go that route then they shouldn't buy their games.

There is a nice documentary, done by Mystic, on YT on the history of PS4 and the competition from the XBox one. M$ tried to pull a stunt like that back then. Players needed to login to keep their games playable and physical games were to be bound to the user's account.

The crowd said no and M$ reversed this decision.

YouTube thought my Steam Deck video was 'harmful and dangerous'
19 Aug 2022 at 4:16 pm UTC Likes: 5

Well it is dangerous. Strong risk of addiction? People may get the urge to install a totally free os on their other systems? A device which is repair friendly? Running ROMs from other parties on it *cough* Nintendo *couch*?

All bad influences.

Proton 7.0-4 is coming to bring more compatibility to Linux and Steam Deck

Found this explanation on the case insensitive feature of ext4.

https://unix.stackexchange.com/a/616133 [External Link]

I'm thinking of modding, skyrim for example, where many authors do use different casing for file names. If the article is right then this could be a performance issue in case a file is not found. And of course non working mods.

As for the question why this is needed: thank Microsoft.
